This is a dream job for me after working in public education for 25+ years! It combines my tenacity in research, love of history, and curiosity about families and their stories: where do we come from?
I have been “doing” my family tree for about 15 years before seriously delving into genealogical research of all my branches. What stories I found! This led to finding more about my husband’s family and soon, our friends were asking about their families – “We want to know but don’t want to do the work. How can you stand looking for all that?”
Eight trees later, AVI was born.
I currently belong to the following professional, historical, and genealogical associations:
- Ellis Island Foundation
- JewGen ~ Ancestry ~ Archives
- Minisink Valley Historical Society
- National Museum of the American Indian
- National Museum of African-American History and Culture
- Onondaga Historical Association
- Heard Museum
- the National Trust for Scotland Foundation, USA
- New York Public Library ~ Onondaga County Public Library
And, since I value my privacy and right to decide when and where I share my family information, I do the same for you. Your name and email address information is never sold or shared to any list! ~Kathleen Weiss
